Commissioner Precinct 3

Richard Chapman

Born and raised in Uvalde County, Texas, Richard graduated from Sabinal High School. He attended A&I University of Kingsville under a football scholarship and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. His business career began with Bechtel Engineering of Houston, Texas, but the lure of small town familiarity changed his career path.  A resident of Kendall County since 1976, he entered into business operating White’s Auto on Main Street.   After successfully running WA Automotive for 36 years, he retired in June, 2012.

Richard has served in various positions in the community including membership in the Boerne Kiwanis Club, Boerne Chamber Director, City Council Member for two terms, Boerne Berges Fest Director, and 21 years of service with the Boerne Volunteer Fire Department having held various offices thereof. He has also served for 2 years as the President of the Kendall County Republican Club and  was Chairman of the Senate district  25 Caucus during the 2018 Republican Convention in San Antonio.  Richard also served the remainder of an unexpired term for Kendall County Commissioner Precinct 3 in 2014 and 2015.  Most recently he was elected as Commissioner Pct. 3 in 2018.

Richard has a long established community service resume in Kendall County demonstrating his dedication and grass roots understanding of today’s evolving issues.  His goals are to extend his conservative views and proactive business practices to the County operations.  Both his door and phone lines are open to anyone who wants to talk, share their ideas, questions or problems.
