Any division of property that occurred after 5/13/1996 not located in a platted/recorded subdivision will require an Affidavit of Land Location per Court Order #96-0550 click here for sample. *NOTE: Physical address change my occur due to any division of property.

Access/Driveway Permit


To apply for a Access/Driveway Permit contact Development Management at 830-331-8253. Click here for application

When all documents are received along with the permit fee, an appointment will be scheduled to meet with the Compliance Inspector to take measurements of the driveway location. Property owner or agent may call within 1 week for confirmation of physical address & construction specifications for access. The Access/Driveway Permit is issued at the time the 9-1-1 Rural Address is determined.

If property owner can not meet with the Compliance Inspector a designated agent can be assigned to meet with the Compliance Inspector and sign for the permit. To down load designated agent form click here
Please note: Designated agent will have authority to obtain all permits and make all decisions.

The 9-1-1 Rural Address and Access/Driveway Permit must be obtained before applying for Development, Septic and/or Well Permits.

Access/Driveway Permits are issued for county roads, if an Access/Driveway Permit is needed on a State Highway you must contact TxDot at 830-249-2262.

The 9-1-1 Rural Address is issued along with the Access/Driveway Permit.To apply for a 9-1-1 Rural Address contact Development Management at 830-331-8253 or click here to download form.

In an emergency, seconds can sometimes make a life-saving difference. Make sure your 9-1-1 address numbers are posted on your house or business and are easy to see from the road. A well marked location is much easier for firefighters, medical personnel and law enforcement officers to find you when you need help.

**NOTE: Physical address change may occur due to any division of property.

9-1-1 blue reflective address signs are available for you to purchase. The fee for the signs are $15.00 for a single sided sign & $20.00 for a double sided sign. Just click here for the form and send in with the fee. Someone from our office will contact you when the sign is ready to be picked up. If you would like your 9-1-1 address sign mailed to you just add $5.20 to the fee for postage.

Kendall County is dedicated to the safety and welfare of all Kendall County residences. The completion of all permit applications ensures that regulations set forth by the governing entities are in compliance with all standards. Property owner or assigned designated agent can obtain all required applications.


Development Permit Application

A Development Permit is required to proceed with any property development and the issuance of septic or well permits.  

Development Permit Applications may be obtained from the Development Management Office or click here  to download form.

The 911 Rural Address and Access/Driveway Permit must be issued before you can obtain a Development Permit.

Development Permit Fee: $100.00/Residential, $500.00/Commercial

If development is located in the Light MIA Zone 2click here for permit application. Application fee: Residential n/c, Commercial $300 cash or check payable to Kendall County. Click here  for Kendall County Order No 11-27-2017B & boundary map. If commercial development : site/detention plan must be turned in to Development Management for approval.

Septics

Septic Registration Application may be obtained from the Development Management Department or click here to down load form.

Septic Permit Fee is $200.00 for all septic types

Affidavit to the Public form required on all aerobic septic systems, click here to download form. The original Affidavit to the Public must be recorded at the Kendall County Clerks office. The recording fee is $26.00. A maintenance contract signed by the property owner is also required on all aerobic septic systems. The contract is provided by the licensed septic installer.

Kendall County permitting authority shall either approve or deny an application within 30 days of receiving an application.
