Access/Driveway Permit

An Access (Driveway) Permit is required prior to construction or modification of a driveway that connects to a public county road.  For properties that do not have an address (or a new address is being requested), this permit application is submitted along with the Address Request Form.

An Access Permit is no longer required for driveways that front a private roadway as there will no longer be an inspection of the construction of the driveway.  However, an address request form will still be required to obtain an address.

If access is needed to a State Highway you must contact TxDOT at 830-249-2262.

When all documents are received along with the permit fee, an appointment will be scheduled to meet with the Access Coordinator.  If property owner can not meet with the Access Coordinator a designated agent may be assigned by the owner.
Please note: Designated agent will have authority to obtain all permits and make all decisions.

An address must be assigned to the property and an access permit issued before applying for Development, Septic and/or Well Permits.

9-1-1 Rural Addressing

To request an address submit the Address Request Form.  This is typically submitted in conjunction with the Access Permit Application.

When all documents are received along with the permit fee, an appointment will be scheduled to meet with the Access Coordinator.  If property owner can not meet with the Access Coordinator a designated agent may be assigned by the owner.
Please note: Designated agent will have authority to obtain all permits and make all decisions.

The 9-1-1 Rural Address and Access Permit must be obtained before applying for Development, Septic and/or Well Permits.

In an emergency, seconds can sometimes make a life-saving difference. Make sure your 9-1-1 address numbers are posted on your house or business and are easy to see from the road. A well marked location is much easier for firefighters, medical personnel and law enforcement officers to find you when you need help.

**NOTE: Physical address change may occur due to any division of property.

9-1-1 blue reflective address signs are available for you to purchase. The fee for the signs are $20.00 for a single sided sign & $25.00 for a double sided sign.

Development Permit

Kendall County is dedicated to the safety and welfare of all Kendall County residences. The completion of all permit applications ensures that regulations set forth by the governing entities are in compliance with all standards. Property owner or assigned designated agent can obtain all required applications.

Development Permit Application

A Development Permit is required to proceed with any property development and the issuance of septic or well permits.

The 911 Rural Address and Access Permit must be issued before you can obtain a Development Permit.

A lighting permit shall be submitted with the development permit. The lighting permit and development permit are issued concurrently.

Property Restrictions, if any, in unincorporated areas are recorded on the deed filed at the County Clerk's office. You can contact the Clerk's office at 830-331-8233 with any questions.
