Fire Department Response Information for Insurance Purposes
The following information is provided to you and or your insurance company to use for insurance rating purposes.  This page contains information about each of the seven fire departments in Kendall County as to the apparatus they will respond with in the event of a structure fire.

All the fire departments participate in a mutual aid join agreement.  In the event of a confirmed structure fire the fire department that is designated as the first responding department will be dispatched, and then the next two closest fire department will be dispatched to assist.  If additional departments apparatus, equipment or personnel are need the Incident Commander will request additions departments be dispatched.

 


Alamo Springs Volunteer Fire Department

1 - 150 gpm Brush Truck carrying 225 gallons of water (CAF) foam system
1 - 150 gpm Brush Truck carrying 300 gallons of water and foam system
1 - 500 gpm Tender carrying 2100 gallons of water and foam system with quick dump
1-  F-350 Rescue van for personnel, equipment and supplies

All structure fire responses Alamo Springs FD will have the two closest Fire Department respond as well. Other departments in the County will be dispatched as needed including Fredericksburg FD.

Our response time will be 10 to 20 minutes depending on the distance to the location.

Bergheim Volunteer Fire Department

1 -   1250 gpm Engine carrying 1250 gallons water and CAFS
1 - 1500 gpm Engine carrying 1800 gallons water with CAFS and quick dump  
1 - 1000 gpm Tender carrying 2000 gallons water with quick dump
1 - 250 gpm Brush Truck carrying 4 00 gallons water
1 - 500 gpm Engine carrying 500 gallons water
1 - 150 gpm Brush Truck carrying 750 gallons water with quick dump
1 - Toyota Squad Truck for Command and rehab

All structure fire responses Bergheim FD will have the two closest Fire Department respond as well. Other departments in the County will be dispatched as needed including Leon Springs FD and/or Bulverde FD.

Our response time will be 6 to 16 minutes depending on the distance to the location.

Boerne Fire Department

1 - Command Vehicle
3 - 1500 gpm Engine carrying 750 gallons of water with a Class A (CAFS) foam system
1 - 1250 gpm Engine carrying 750 gallons of water with a Class A foam system
1 - 1250 gpm Tender carrying 2500 gallons with 3 quick dumps
1 -  500 gpm Tender  carrying 2100 gallons with1 quick dumps
1 -  250 gpm Brush Truck carrying 500 gallons of water and a class A foam system
1 -  250 gpm Brush Truck carrying 600 gallons of water and a Class A foam system
1 -  190 gpm Brush truck with 700 gallons of water and a (CAFS) foam system
1 - Heavy Duty Rescue & utility apparatus
1 - 2000 gpm 100 ft. Aerial carrying 300 gallons water

All structure fire responses Boerne FD will have the two closest Fire Department respond as well. Other departments in the County will be dispatched as needed.

Response time will be 6 to 15 minutes depending on how far you live from the Boerne Fire Station.

If you reside inside the City of Boerne limits your Insurance Service Organization rating is 2.

Insurance Services Organization for the Outside Protection Area (OPA) is a split class of 4/8b.

With a split class, all property located within 1000 feet of a fire hydrant, and within 5 miles of a fire station, will use class 4. All property located farther than 1000 feet of a fire hydrant, and within 5 miles of a fire station, will use class 8b. All other locations within our response area should be 9.  

Comfort Volunteer Fire Department

1 - 300 gpm Brush Truck carrying 500 gallons of water
1 - 300 gpm Brush Truck carrying 600 gallons of water
1 - 300 gpm Brush Truck carrying 800 gallons of water
1 - 1250 gpm Engine carrying 1000 gallons of water and a Class A Foam System
1 - 1250 gpm Engine carrying 800 gallons of water and (CAF) foam system
1 - 250 gpm Rescue/Engine Vehicle carrying 300 gallons of water with a Class A Foam system
1 - 500 gpm Tender carrying 2500 gallons of water with quick dump

Our response time will be 6 to 15 minutes depending on the distance to the location.

If you reside within the Water District Area your Insurance Service Organization rating is 4.  

All structure fire responses Comfort FD will have the two closest Fire Department respond as well.  Other departments in the County will be dispatched as needed

Insurance Services Organization for the Outside Protection Area (OPA) is 9.


Kendalia Fire Department

1 - 500 gpm Brush Truck carrying 300 gallons of water
1 - 1250 gpm Engine carrying 1000 gallons of water
1 - 500 gpm Tender carrying 2200 gallons of water with quick dump
1 - 500 gpm Rescue/Brush Truck carrying 400 gallons of water

All structure fire responses Kendalia FD will have the two closest Fire Department respond as well.   Other departments in the County will be dispatched as needed and/or Blanco Fire Department as well.

Response time is 6-19 minutes depending on the distance from the fire station to the structure.

ISO rating for our area: 10/9.

Sisterdale Fire Department

1 - 350 gpm Brush Truck carrying 500 gallons of water
1 - 350 gpm Brush Truck carrying 710 gallons of water
1 - 350 gpm  Brush Truck carrying 1200 gallons of water
1 - 1250 gpm Engine carrying 1000 gallons of water and CAFS foam system
1 - 1500 gpm Engine carrying 1250 gallons of water with class A foam
1 - 500 gpm Tender carrying 2300 gallons of water with quick dump
1 - Mobile Air Support Vehicle

All structure fire responses Sisterdale FD will have the two closest Fire Department respond as well. .  Other departments in the County will be dispatched as needed.

Response time is 6 to 15 minutes depending on the distance from the fire station.

ISO rating for our area; 8b

Waring Volunteer Fire Department

1 - 250 gpm Brush Truck carrying 300 gallons of water

1 - 500 gpm Tender carrying 2000 gallons of water with quick dump
1 - 1st responder truck

All structure fire responses Waring FD will have the two closest Fire Department respond as well. Other departments in the County will be dispatched as needed. 
 
Response time is 5 - 15 minutes depending on the distance from the station.

Kenda ll County has many subdivisions that have a least one 5000 gallo n storage ta nk loca ted in it with a fire department NST conne ction that is designated as fire water .  These locati ons also have all weather acce ss to them year round.  For more information contact the Coun ty Fire Marshal at 830 249-3721 to see if one is located in your area.

Kendall County and the seven fire departments also work with homeowners and homeowner associations to have NST fire department connections place on home owner storage tanks for fire prot ection use as well.  Again, contact the County Fire Marshal for more information about these.
